When visiting a family member or loved one at a Maryland Correctional Institution, it's important to know the following:
 
  • Name of the institution
    • Many institutions go by various names
    • Be sure of which institution your visitor resides

 

  • ID number
    • Each inmate has a number following their name
    • MD institutions use this number for all forms of verification of inmates

 

  • Verify you're on "Inmate's Visiting List"
    • You MUST be on this list to visit.
    • The name that is placed on this list MUST match your state issued identification.
    • Be aware of what affiliation your visitor has given you on this list (Wife, Girlfriend, Aunt, Sister etc.)
